Visual Art Overview & Goals
Courses taught in the Visual Art program at Bethany College are designed to teach students to see the world in a different light and to explore their environment through passionate investigation. Our goal is to cultivate creative thinking, problem solving, and thoughtful exploration.
We offer a wide range of courses that expose students to drawing, painting, print making, design, ceramics, sculpture, and art history. Our classes are created to nurture artistic skill, build technique, and promote free thinking.
Our students are taught to look to the past in order to build a more informed future. Our art minor is a perfect complement to any course of study at Bethany. The importance of creativity, curiosity, and the ability to adapt cannot be overstated in an ever changing world. Small class sizes and one-on-one instruction foster individual growth, while cultivating a community of artists.
